A short collaborative project I helped animate on, in collaboration with the team at Bricks in Motion.
Winner of the Jury Prize and Best Animation at the annual Steinerei Brickfilm Festival at Chemnitz, Germany.
My contributions to the project were both the surface shots with the agents, and much of the underwater sequences, where we see the diver swimming and reaching the submarine.
Everything was shot in camera, without the aid of rigs or masking. I used multiple glass panels as layers and stuck all the animated elements onto the panels, with sticky tac. This was how I animated sequences, such as the diver swimming underwater and the fish.
We attended the annual Steinerei Brickfilm Festival, this year hosted at Kino Metropol in Chemnitz, Germany. The event was attended by a packed audience of many other animators, their families, and local filmgoers and the event was judged by a jury panel.
We won both the Grand Jury Prize and Best Animation for our film, awarded with 2 trophies; literal bricks with plaques.
